_Khaptad
_Khaptad is well renowned National park of Nepal that was reputable in 1984. This place is covered by greenery and dense forest and mainly situated in the mid mountains of the Himalayas and holds the religious importance as it is known as home of Swami Khaptad. The land is covered with subtropical, moderate and sub alpine vegetation. The park gives spiritual views along with dense forest and wide range of flora and fauna. Who so ever visit the place; get abundance of experience of west Nepal.
The best time to explore the national park is autumn and spring mainly in October- November and March- May. There are numerous festivals that are celebrated in these particular seasons and people can enjoy the snow during extreme winters. _The Khaptad National Park is spread about 3000 meters and gifted by 224
different medicinal herbs and 567 species of flowering plants. There are
wonderful opportunities to watch a varied range of 270 species of
birds. The commonly seen birds are partridges, bulbuls, flycatchers,
cuckoos, eagles and many more. Wild animals like wild dog, wild boar,
Himalayan black bear, barking deer and different kinds of monkey are the
members of this place. The other exciting areas are Khaptad Doha, Upper
Tribeni, and Nag Dhunga under the National Park.
The park is bounded by districts Bajura, Bajhang, Doti and Achham. Visitors can go through west entry spot of Nepal, Gadda Chowk. Banbasa is the Indian border from which the one have to reach Mahendreanagar that means 30 minutes of drive, from Mahendranager, it takes a journey of 10 hours to reach Silghari Bazaar. Slaughtering of animals, smoking, alcohol and other suspicious activities are prohibited as Khaptad parks represents, as religious place and people are free to do meditation in the ashram of Tribeni. |
